Hi evilo I just saw on the IMR site that Ian Michael was taking a break from his work on the neocd emu for DC.I was wondering if you're gonna experience the same problems that he did.
He's talking about the fact that GCC compiler breaks the code and that makes the sfx not working,am I correct?
Again, thanks for your great work on this emu

Hi boule !
No, don't worry, I'm still working on the next version of neocd/ps2, these project are 2 different projects and I'm not linked to imr so ian's decision has no impact on neocd/ps2. Then I don't know about the gcc problems he had or have, but I have none of these on my side. Even if still not complete and still work in progress for the moment I already have some first sfx & fm (in the few games that use fm music, like bust a move) sound support, with problems that (as usual) sound is perfect in a few games, buggy in others, or not working at all for others. However I still have a lot of work on the sound code, I had to rewrote some part of the original code (as I'm not using SDL) and still to most rewrite/optimization other part (I'd like also to update the ym2610 core, as the one actually present is from 1998, and maybe switch to another z80 core, the one used in PGEN for example). Additionally to this, I can also announce that along to a lots of others fixes (bug fix, compatibility increase, almost perfect graphics ), I've reached FULLSPEED in all games I've tested by JUST rewriting the gfx rendering code using let's say "accelerated" hw features.
so, next version is coming nicely and I have NO plan at all to stop development, just be patient as I'm alone on this project and already well busy with work & family
I hope it to be finished for end of this month, else if not, and if you want (all), I will release futur "end of the month" version with all new things and a "preview" of the sound support (but not working at 100%) that you will be able to enable by yourself if you want.
see you soon

WOOHOO!
this is great!
I certainly don't want to rush you or anybody, I just needed to hear some good news lol
it just amazes me that the development on the ps2 version is so fast compared with the DC one.
