i was browsing exploit station and someone has wired a temporary switch to the cd drawer drive that will open it for you instead of having to use the card.

Looks like it's a big lie, doesn't work on my V4, at all.

Also looks like it does some damage, I tried it a few times, now, my CD drive doesn't close of it's own accord, it HAS to be pushed, but, the battery does not open the drive, or close it.

Ah it does work, he had got the points wrong on the picture, if you go further to the right there are the real points, mind the wires I soldered on, I took the picture whilst the old attempt was still on there. For me it's making strange things happen, but, I think that's because the wire is a bit thick.

Yes, it does need 9v, I tested with 8.4 and it just didn't have the strength.

why dont you use the console voltage... you got 5v or 12v(regulated at 9 with 78l09) ....

I don't use the console power because I'm terrible at electronics and don't own any of the necessary gear, plus, I'd want to be able to close the drive as well as open it, touching the wires on the battery makes this easy. And I can't see how 9v batteries are big, they're used in smoke alarms, I could easily just put mine in my expansion bay.

Well, the mod had strange effects on my ps2, or so I thought, one of the connecters has lost some its contacts, to be precise, the 13pin lead that connects to the motor, does anyone know where I can get a spare or perhaps repair it somehow(unlikely). Any help would be greatly appreciated, damn people interrupting me whilst I was putting them in.
