speakers in ps2

i was thinking of putting some built in speakers with volume controls on my ps2.
has any1 tried this or does any1 know where i can hack into to get sound to the speakers.

i was thinking somewhere around the av socket.

if any1 has schematics for the ps2 then please can you post it here.

yep this site is formal and has correct information that is very usefull, iam currently inplanting one of these on my ps2 to hook up my headphones, should be finished and working sometime this week-end and post some pics up if i can find my camera

if how-ever anyone already done this, then please do post your feedback and possible tutorials.

that is a good idea i might also put a socket for headphones aswell as speakers.
does any1 know where i can get some speakers that will fit into the ps2 i have a hdd so i cant use expansion bay.

I don't think it'd be possible to intergrate speakers... especially since you have your expansion bay in use... you'd have to acquire some super tiny speakers... which wouldn't have any bass...

i have some small cambridge soundworks speakers which should be small enough and loud enough if i put a volume controle on.

Yeah but they still wouldn't sound very good... stick with your tv speakers or better yet, 5.1 surround...

Yea I was just about to say they sell 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers for the PS2 that hook into the USB port I think and they are like $100 and for that u'll get bass that will rattle ur house.

Oh you could dish out $300 and buy a 500 watt receiver and some cheap speakers...
