Is it possible to install speakers inside your ps2? Anyone know a tutorial on how?
Personally I won't do it, due to the magnets contained within the speakers & possible damage to the ps2. maybe u could create a vertical stand containing them?????
i know you can do it to an xbox, since their are less people modding ps2s i dont think they have figured out if you can or not, but i am prety sure its possible, and i think a vertical stand with bulit in speakers would be kick ass, i dont know if the vertical stand is hollow or not, but if it is you could use a whole saw and drill holes in both sides and then instal the speaker, that would look stock and if you bought good speakers sound mighty fine also.
why would you put speakers in your ps2 though? wouldn't it be better to hear the sound off the tv?

for the hell of doing something that no one else in the world has done. thats whats modding is for isent it? have you been over to xbox scene? they do a lot of crazyier shit than that.
weeman666-> what version do u have?
I found this datasheet for the "so8 stereo D/A converter chip" on the mainboard. And i belive that you could wire up some sound from it!
I looked at a v9 but i think the chip is present on all motherboards.
Its located near the optical sound output. it shoud read something like CS4334 and it's a SO8 so it got 8 legs.![]()
In the datasheet it looks like pin 5 is analog right out + and
pin 8 is analog left out +
Try does points. but u probebly have to amplify with some sort of amplyfier.
Some old pc sound system maybe.
Anyway check out the data cheat!
I would realy like to know how it went. mess me or something![]()
i have a v2, and i am getting a v7 tommaro, ill sell it if anyone wants it. lol, i would not try this as i would fry the board, i am not a good solder at all, i have put controller port leds and mem card leds, and leds in the controller, but never solderd to a ps2 motherboard, and i prolly never will.
Ok you can look if thoes pins leeds to the video/audio contact. you could connect there if you dont want to solder on the motherboard.
If you dont want to do it maybe i will. I'm going to change my case to a transparent when i finaly resive it. So i could just try if i get any sound from thoes points then.
better off you than me, and watch out you have a cd stuck in your head.
