    the silver stuff on the back of pc sound card and video cards old one is that solder?

    If there are little "wire" leads sticking out, or components stuck in between, then yes. Solder is melted betwenn the copper "trace" or the "wiring" on a circuit board and the component (resistor, capacitor, chip, etc) in the circuit to make a connection and hold them in place.


    ...think of it as small scale welding.
