PS2 Slim Repair Help –
I have a 70001 model slim that stopped working after I added a fan. I spliced the wires from the existing fan and just added it and it worked fine until the 3 pin slot on the motherboard broke off. So I soldered 3 wires, one to each pin and connected them to the existing fan only. Now the button on the power/reset switch broke so I had to use a wire to turn it on, since then I soldered a switch from and old computer and it worked great. Until now the power light (red) wont even turn on. I unplugged the power almost a dozen time to reset my ps2 because the button was broken. So i took my ps2 apart and checked all the fuses via a diagram for my motherboard and they all checked out. So I found a guide on how to bypass a fuse so i followed the guide and still cant get any power on the ps2. I checked the power on the cable plug itself and it checked out. So then I re soldered the plug for power on the motherboard to make sure it was a good fit. I still cant figure out what happened and now the ribben for the power/reset/ir switch broke in half.
Can someone assist me with how to fix the fan and proper solder instruction.
I also need to know if I should have the wire going from end to end on the fuse or from one end of the fuse to the middle prong via the power plug on the motherboard(underside)
Where can I find a replacement cable for the power/reset/ir switch?
are there any good places to get ps2 scrap parts for cheap or free?
any advice would be helpful, I love this ps2 and havn't ever wanted anything else.
