ps2 to computer case mod ideas
so, i'm interested in taking my ps2 (v5, i think, it's a really old phatty with the expansion slot and everything) and putting it into a really small computer case because it's overheating often. computer cases generally have better cooling, so i'm thinking that it'll make for an interesting system.
so, here's a few questions i've got about this.
1. what's the dimensions of a ps2 motherboard? rather, how much room do you need? like, if there's cables that attach on the sides, etc. it'd have to be of this version of the ps2 i've got.
2. does anyone have a diagram of the pinouts on the board? i don't really know what's what, and i don't want to crack open my ps2 until i'm completely ready to go with this mod.
3. i'll be hopefully using the power button on the computer case for the ps2 power switch. i'll make a converter to make the cable from the case fit onto the board. a computer case switch should still be a momentary switch, like the ps2 power button - do you know if there's any ill effects of doing it this way? if i can't turn it off, i'll just unplug the damn thing, so that's not a huge issue.
thanks in advance.
