ps2 case mod and ide2sata mod
ps2 case mod and ide2sata mod –

here's my ps2 w/swap disc cover all clear casing
and 8 leds
3 leds are from the fan i installed on top also i broke the internal fan's wire so it's be hooked up to the usb then installed(hard wired to the circuit board)
also the fan can be replace easliy because i took a power supply of a hard drive cable and wired it so that the wires would be coming up to the top of the ps2 instead of ripping it all apart again
also about the ide2sata
i took a Vinpower digital inc (tel 626 282 5300) sata to ide converter
and a dremal to cut a the power supply area of the device
and took a y power cable and cut the plastic around the y cable
and placed each cable carefully too the right slot they needed to be in
and now i have a 2.5' laptop hard inside and ulaunch reconized it
i just won't format it because it's my backup hdd for the netbook i own
i was thinking of like the ps3 maybe i will have adapter mounted to the side of ps2 so i can have a larger hdd
sorry photo's are cellphone quality

but if you don't mind cutting the ps2 cases up then ad a y power cable to the mix then it will work.

@zin0099
Do you have some more infos about the adapter you used?
Part number, price and where to buy?
Maybe i also can use it for my project
Did you try it already with winhiip?
Oh, and what is written on the chip?

remember i had to use a dremal to cut some of the plastic around the power supply to get this to work
be careful with the pins (the silver ones inside the plastic) they seem fradgile

if someone wants i could make these up.
but here's an idea i had if i were to buy a laser dead ps2 take out the cd/dvd drive and made a hdd bay on top
then a standard size hard drive would fit in a fat ps2
