NES ps2 case

Sadly it will be a while cuz im working on my ps2 case right now but i am going to work on a consept design thing in photoshop to show what im going to do and how im going to doit. I was sitting here and i was bored so i took 5 minutes and drew this up it's what my ps2 case will look like when im done it look's pretty much like that except no orange glow from inside yet and the side's arent grey i just made it like that in the pic so you could tell it was the edge but other then that that's what it look's like right now.

Ok i just opened up the nes and it was full of cobweb's and a weird red spider :chinscrat but just by looking at it i can already tell you what im going to need to do this a dremil with cutting wheel,hot glew gun,soldering iron first im going to have to do some repair to the front flap opening thing cuz it had a crack in it and it came off the rest of the case nothing big though unfortunatly i dont have a digital camera :( so i'll try to explain this best i can or wait maybe i can find some pic's of the inside for you hmm......sucsess i found one from a guy's site who did a pc nes case http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/nes...es/nes0010.jpg im gonna have to cut along the bottom of that bulging T shaped section and put somthing in to make it nice and flat cuz other wise not everything will fit and then cut off all the origanal soport thing's which are already cut off in this pic but first i haveto clean my case im pretty sure it's got more spider silk in it right now then plastic lol :P after that i think im going to pancake all the ps2 stuff pretty much just take all the board's and pile them on top of eachother excluding the hdd bayif need be i can move thing's to the side a bit but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. After that (assumeing it all fit's) im not to sure how to set up the power and reset button's so that they'll work but i'll figur somthing out what i am going to do is put a piece of clear plastic in the lid opening so that when the disk tray eject's i wont have to open up the lid it will open it with it i'll put a piece in to make it like this (see attachment 1) those are the only "big" problem's i see myself running into so it should go smoothly but who know's. The second attachment is another pc nes case with the cd rom drive ejected but that's pretty much what the ps2 one will look like.

looking at my ps2 insides and the nes case, i cant imagine how you are going to get it to fit even without a HD...but oh, man if you get this to work that would be the ultimate in ps2 case mod (IMO)...the tray idea sounds great and looks even better...i wish i knew more about case modding so i could help you with the reset/start buttons...

What are you going to do about controller ports/memory card ports??

.....umm..i hadent real thought about that lol but i think im either going to keep it looking stock and leave the front's of the nes controler port's in and put the ps2 controler port's and mem slot's in the back or carfuly dremil out the nes controler slot's and put the ps2 controler and mem slot in there you can see the sopot im talkin about in the pic but as far as the fit yeah it's going to be tight but it should fit (hopfuly lol) i think what im going to do with this case is put my ps2 in it to test fit and everything and make sure it all work's and then after the case is finished i'll take mine back out and put it in my old case (cuz im moding it aswell) and then give away the nes case i can either have somone send me there ps2 and put it in for them then send it back or just send them the case not 100% about what im going to do yet i'll just have to wait and see how i feel when im done.

please, please please, let me be first in line to get this case off you if you sucessfully do it...ESPECIALLY if youre going to GIVE it away...id gladly send you my ps2...i have 2 laying around, one with a busted laser and it would be more than worth my while to fix the laser and send it to you. Please let me know when youre done with this, or if you actually do plan on case modding someones ps2 with it. Aim: DeadStealth969 or just pm me on this forum.

lol geez your just a little excited eh :lol: how come you like the nes case so much? just cuz it's diffrent? that's why i like it that and the hole retro feel of it.

thats exactly it...NES was my 1st game system, and it would also trip a lot of people out for me to bring over a NES with a PS2 game already in it, and then start it up...id eventually get the NES case modded with leds and a window on the top...

Yes im exited, maybe too exited...but to me this is the best case mod idea ever

Also i love the idea that i would be the only person in my city, maybe state, maybe even country to have a NES-PS2

if you use a version 3 or older console, i guess you could do it easily since the mainboard is only the size of the psu, and then if you rig up an external psu... i guess it can be done with room to spare then :P

funny that i would be searching for case mod info on a ps2 when coming across this... this is the project im currently working on... i got some more good ideas from reading this though, i have my whole nes case gutted and im using a v5 ps2... i have to do some unsoldering and add wires in between some of the connectors to make it easier to move the parts around and make them fit properly, but as far as fitting it all, after modding the connectors to be at the ends of longer wires, or new wires all together, it does all fit in the nintendo case.
i read on here about opening the front door and making it push the drawer open... i was thinking that, but dismissed the idea because i couldnt think of how i would do that. if anyone can help with this please PM me...

the particular thing i was actually searching for was if anyone has tried to hook up a wireless nic somehow to the ps2... because if i could figure that out i wont have to figure out how to move the port for connecting the network adaptor... its in a pretty tight spot right now...

u need to have a new button for the eject , inside the NEW door below it faceing the rear of the system, then make like a latch extending down from the NES door so when the door is opened all teh way , it pushes aginast the new button makin the dvd tray com out.
