After being on the boards for a while and taking notes, here's my first mod dealing with the memory card made by Nyko, the one officially supported by Sony (The inside board are almost exactly the same) with 3mm white LEDs. Now that I finished it, i'm thinking of turning those LEDs to blinking ones when there's activity.

The next mods I plan on doing is LEDs blinking on controller vibration, changing the red analog light to blue, installing a modchip, getting a clear case and maybe installing some LEDs in it.

Let me know what you think of it

How many LED's you put in this BABY??? 4?
If so did you get 3,3v from the mem card and did you use a resistor?

Iv'e started my blue mem card mod like yours but am getting 2 UV led's....iv'e started by filing down the mem card case to allow for the cables.

WELL DONE!!! yours looks $h!t hot!!! Hope mine turns out the same.

I originally had 4 3mm LEDs in but wierd stuff started happening with my PSTwo like shutting off when I inserted the card plus 4 seemed a little overboard.

I ordered Blue, Red, and White LEDs, 100 Ohm resistors, and 30 AWG wire from 123leds.com (before their prices went up)

When reading up on how much power the PS2 puts out to the memory cards, controllers, etc, some say 3V some say 5V so I went along with 5V since I used to LED mod my Xbox (and of course chipped) which was putting out 5V everywhere (102 LEDs altogether )

EDIT: I forgot to add that after doing this, I lost all of my games saves

    Thanks.
So you rekon 2 Led's would be enough?
    I'll see how it goes!
So you rekon 2 3mm UV led's and a 100ohm resistor would do the trick? Like i said i'll see how it goes, and i suppose it depends on the brightness of the Led's. I'll be buying decent ones and i have some UV paint that im gonna paint on the wire.
Will keep u updated on my progress. Thanks for your help.

I just put one bright white Led wired to points 5 & 9 didnt bother with resistors, set it like this...
    [----@]
[____] the '@' is the led & it flashes when it reads/writes.
here is a vid i followed
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJVF7BQAe_U&feature=related"]YouTube - PS2 (HOW TO) Memory Card LED Mod[/ame]
I did this cause my power/standby led died after braking/fixing the ribbon plug on my slim,
i would love to put a red/green or blue power led in there too... any help pointing me in the right direction with this will be appreciated.....
Also i have a very small bulb about same size as a led in my bits tub (looks like a radio valve/steampunkish) i was wondering how long will it live or would it just blow

Nice mod Just had an idea myself,i was reading somewhere where this guy wanted to internalise his memory card, right. So what about internalising the memory card, and sticking a led on the ps2 casing instead Maybe right between the two memory card slots, hmm

hi guys ive recently performed the led mod on my dualshock 3
controller, everything went succesfully until i realised that
the controller leds stay on all the time, that meaning the battery
runs out alot of the time, so most times i have to play with the
ds3 conntected to the ps3 because the battery is drained out during
the ps3 being turned off and the actual controller leds staying lit.
Can someone please advice me of what to do? what have i done wrong?
thanks for any help offered guys.
