hey im new to modding and i want to know how to find soldering points on the controller and the PS2. im gonna do some casemods but i dunno how to find them....one friend told me that i could just take a resistor and a led and play around with the points untill you find one that lights it up with the controller/ps2 ON but idunno if i could trust that(since he mods xboxs and i dont think that it applies for both consoles) so does anyone know?
Heh he shouldnt even be doing that with an Xbox.. Hate to short something out. Nahh, what you do, take a multimeter and set it somewhere around the ~20v DC mark. Put the black lead on a known ground, and using the red lead, probe around until you find the voltage you need. Hope that helps!

25 watts soldering iron is too much. Just make sure all connection are soldered quick! 15 watts is good...
Yep thats a multimeter, exactly what I meant. And for chip installs, I use a 30w (!!) iron and I've never lifted a trace or anything. As long as you don't press really hard or hold it there for more than a few seconds you should be good to go :)
