I have the Sony DVD remote with dongle.... how do I go about installing it into my case... Is it just wired into the controller ports... say the second port and mounted just to the side... I think that would work... but confirmation would be lovely... thanks

i just opened up my dvd dongle.. imma open up my ps2 and solder the 9 pins to the second controll port and if it works then ill let u know... its should work and the second control port should still have full control

ok.. I have seen those pass through DVD dongles (offered from third party remotes) and don't see why I should need the switch.... ESPI69 is working on the straight connection.. hope it works out... just got my dongle apart and plan on reusing the case for a port tester.... like power and crap.... and plan to do the same with a MC box.
well, i did wire it to the cotrol port but i had a friend that needed his ps2 fixed a.s.a.p so i sold him my controller port cable and eject/reset cable so not i cant even test it but all i did was wire it to the pins on the back of the port , hopefully it will run and if it does then ill test to see if the controll port acually works with a controller hooked up as well... but if u have time , try it and see cuz i cant do anythign till i find a place to get these cables , either online or this place where i get more ps2 parts
this is something I'm waiting till I get my Fliptop... but I guess I could short term the thing for testing.... I'll make a split extension cable and test the controller and dongle all at once... although I removed the board from the dongle... I'll just resolder it... Plan on trying tonight....
Well that sucks... can't have both working... but a simple switch on the power lead will turn it on or off... not that big of a deal... though was hoping....
my big task will be integrating the multi-tap...
