flip tops don't screw your laser up, if you use them properly the laser won't be active when you take the disc out, you must have been using yours wrong.

lol, yea, if your laser is active when you take out your disc, I don't think u deserve to own a fliptop and/or you need an instruction manual! BUT on a sidenote, thats a pretty good DIY job on that fliptop zxspeky!

The skin didn't come, but I've done a bit more work, and added some extra stuff to the site

As someone who has owned a flip-top, and who's friends currently own them, I can promise all of you that it will, without a doubt, damage your laser. You'll be lucky to get six months of solid use out of that thing before you start to experience problems.

I've already been using one for the last year or so, with no prob's m8, I think some people don't bother to clean their ps2's on a regular basis, and it's the dust that is killing their machines, I would say it's best if you use a flip top, to use a can of air on the console at least once a month.

and even better you buy a fliptop at 10$, personally I bought a fliptop even if I had a dms3 + hdd 137go, I just love the old ps opening style (and you don't **** up your ps2 by pushing the manually).

Nice site zxspeky.. And you are correct on cleaning your PS2 once in a while.. I clean all of my PS2's at least once every 2 weeks or so... The dust can really eat up the lazer if the lazer is exposed to the world..
