Ok, i may not know much of this but i thought id ask, now if i were to get a old nintendo controller, and a cheap ps2 controller and just remove the wires from the plug in off the nintendo controller, and just attach the end of the ps2 controller, would that be able to work, well as for emulation use. But, as i said im not sure on how controllers function. and i didnt really see anyhting on this forum about that. thanks in advance

That would definately NOT work. Each console has a different signal it sends to control the button functions on the gamepad. It depends which "old nintendo controller you want to use, but the following is possible.
You would need to take out the PS2 gamepad's controller board, then put it into the nintendo controller and wire the buttons up to the PS2 gamepads controller board.
Obviously this will require soldering skills, and a small enough PS2 circuit board to fit inside the nintendo controller you want to use. This is highly unlikely to fit into a SNES controller and at the very least very complicated for the N64 controller.
Another user is doing a N64 to PS2 controller mod as mentioned in post #9 of the thread below:
    http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30690

I also saw no SNES,N64,CG, to PS2 adapters on the web search I did.
Your best bet is to find a PS2 controller that has a shape closest to the nintendo controller you wanted to use. For example the Capcom Street Fighter 2 gamepads are the closest thing I have seen to the SNES layout.
