  1. #1 Question Custom PS2 Controller
    NecroshineX Guest
I have this problem when I play Socom 2. When the action really heats up online, I have this habit of pushing the L3 and R3 buttons and end up changing my fire rate. I did a little searching and found this on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

$40.00 !!!! I would love to know if this mod is easy to do and how. I'm sure sombody on this forum knows how to do this. Any help would greatly be apreciated.

    Thanks....Nec

...$40 for 2 switch.... 4 peice of ...3cm of wires........ 1 mg of solder..... wow.... ..

man this is quite easy to do...

Just open your pad. Youll see there is some push button next to the 2 joystick.
If you want to "disable" them you need to remove them...but you should not disable them because they must be used in other games...

for adding the small button like on ebay (...$40..!!...how the heck does they count money..) you just need to solder some wire from button contact a and b... (switch short a and b when push) to some radioshack switchs and voila..... ($2.. for 4.. red or black)

my sound a bit crapy but my english is not the best and I cant explain without a drawing

    have fun !

Ok, I did a search for that tutorial you were talking about moethacriminal. Cant find it anywhere. Even did a quick browse in the mod forum. andreq, lol....thats all spanglish to me. If anybody has a link to the thread or threads, please let me know. Also....I noticed that the purpose for this mod was to keep you from pushing down on the two sticks. How are they disabled to keep you from doing this? Yet, you can use the buttons regularly in other games? Doesnt make sense unless there is a switch between the old set of buttons and the new. True?

On the ebay mod the button are not disabled... they are doubled... if you still want to disable them you could use a small 2circut swtich place...somewhere on the controller but ... anyway

Ill try to do a small drawing to show you a simple solution but without disabeling the 2 normal button.

Ive never plaed socom but how the heck can you play with "Reload" on R3... (or L3) ... this is kinda weird to place important action here..anyway ill try to draw now

edit : ....If I can only find a damn picture of inside of a ps2 controller to draw over it !..... ...i could do one myself but not now cause im not at home .... if any of you got one post it plz

What do you mean those buttons are doubled?? Then what would the sense of doing it be? So the controllers that this guy is selling are bogus? And to explain Socom2..... you use the L3 and R3 sticks to move. Pushing them down reloads your weapon and or changes your fire rate. I just want to disable the pushing down part of the buttons and relocate elsewhere.

the controller on ebay add another way to press R3. You can still press it with the joystick but the mod add a button so its more fast (reload with L3 sound really slow to me...)

if you want to remove all the fonction and relocate them you can just remove the switch inside the pad and put some wire to other switch like on the ebay thing..

but for other game you will not be able to use the normal L3 and R3... but the relocated one will work.

if I can find a damn picture ill try to show you how...

I dont want to remove "all" of the function. I still want to use the sticks for movement. I want to remove the push down function.
