Custom lighting for MC

here we go.... This is going to get illustrated... so hold on... no ASCIIvision for this... needs hi-def 8bit grafix for this one...

using a fiber optic... such as a TOSlink cable... run the cable throught the MC from the port connector sides to the back and back around to other side of port... inside the MC port slot is 2 RGB LEDs one on either side blowing light down into the fiber optic....

in the MC the cable bares it's sweet light on the bottom edge of the MC and has the cover sanded off to allow the light to show through....

give me a second to illustrate...

Here be the illustration.... should be simple enough to do.... if I can get the RGB LED to fit... I'll test it on an old PSX MC first... and see how well it works...

You know crack is bad... I know crack is bad.... even the local crack whore knows crack is bad... so why do I smoke it....

This can't work.... at least not this way... the screws are in the way.... I have no place for the screws... I guess I could glue the MC shut... but that would suck... I'll take another look at the port and see what I can do with it....

OK... this is sucking.... the TOSlink cable is to brittle.... and a major pain in the arse to put in... so I'm thinking a 4 metal pad connector on the top of the card.... just above where the contacts are.... I'll give this a bit of pondering before I attempt it though.....

and I'll look for some compatable materials to use... thinking that roller switches will work inside the port enclosure.

Any suggestions on some contacts to use... thin and surface mountable (on the outside of the card) and easy to fit...

or if any other ideas pop up let me know.

OK.... this one is just about dead.... I erally would like to get this one working... but...

I still am having probs finding a suitable contct that can be put on the card.... I've figured out the MC slots end's contacts but the MC itself is causing a few problems....

Thinking about cutting an old controller plug apart to see just how the little top tabs are mounted in the thing and see how hard soething like that would be to make for the MC Custom Lighting.... I'll get back with some info
