So I have a couple of EMS Topgun II lightguns, the only (?) product that works with non-CRT screens. There are some annoyances but mostly I am pleased. They are quite accurate if you calibrate carefully and don't get too close. These guns see by looking at IR emitter bars and interface via USB. They are only supposed to work with PS2, xbox and PC.

My question is, is there any way to get these working with consoles that only support CRT guns? Besides converting USB to whatever port, you'd have to tap the A/V out to get the CRT information and translate the gun's own positioning info into CRT-ese. Is this possible even in theory?



Instead of a PS1 it could be Dreamcast, SNES, etc...
