We all know pin 8 on the ps2 controller does not do anything, ie, not connected.
Why couldnt we just use this wire extend the front panel on/off switch?

that could be one trick to do... but wont you have to go back when you want to switch the disk anyways?
well, the use is, if you are finised using the ps2, you can turn it off, or if you use hdloader for all your games (like me) you can reset and choose another game without getting up.
pretty much is just another feature for thoes who dont have v9 and above
what does V9s and above do?
they have the remote?
and how are u supposed to do that with only one pin?
You would have to run a long wire through that 12 foot cover. It would be easy to put a IR in the the controller and one in the PS2 I would think. But I don't know much about IRs'.
V9's and above have built in IR sensor, when used with newest remote, can be reset/powered on and eject.Originally Posted by 105854804
Yes, that would be a very convenient option to have for all of us pre-v9 owners, but if im not mistaken wasent there someone who already did that? I think I remember seeing a pic of his controller where he put in a switch that would power his PS2 on/off.
it cant be done with the ps2 because the power thing is a ribbon, there is no way to solder anything onto it, but i know how to do that on an XBox controller if you want to know that
yeah i remember some one did it with a SWITCH
I remeber Helltick did something like that to reset the PS2 for Hdloader and stuff he used like a doorbell for the mod quite cool
