From xbox mods switching to ps2s

hello ps2-ers, if you are reading this i am trying to find ways to mod a ps2. well a litttle background, i mod xboxes and very good at it too even did upgrade my hard drive to 120gb. but that is not my point here, i really need help getting advise ang suggestions in modding ps2. i must shamely admitt that i do not have a ps2 at the moment but will buy one. any model ps2 you guy recomend me buying? i amtotally new to this ps2 modding. please show me step by step or just of what you know. any info is greatly appreciated.
i heard that there are softmods of ps2 using memory cards? that is prety kool also. if anyone can please fill me in on it. thanxz much.

yes there are softmods, don't get a slimline is my only suggestion. There is more than plenty of information on how to do anything to your PS2 on this site. just use the search command or browse through posts.
