X-Port headache –
Ok, i have the old Sharkport hardware. I used to own a first gen US PS2 (30001 i believe). I had no problems using this with AR Max V3. (thats the V3 upgrade disk not the full on AR max V3).
Well needless to say my old 30001 died (even after several repairs and adjustments) and i was lucky enough to get the thing booting a game to trade it in.
then i got the new 50001 system only to find out that the AR disk i was using was doa due to the new system hating AR. Contacted datel, did a disk exchange and presto, AR works fine in my new PS2.
1 year later, i get the HDD off a friend and have already had a year to tinker with software modding my xbox, i thought i would jump on the ps2 bandwagon a while. this is where the problems starts.
Now, using either software (x-port or sharkport v1 or v2) I get a USB unable to connect error. I have unloaded/reloaed the drivers, i have pulled apart and examined the cabling, and i have even chewd off a few fingernails. This thing just wont connect.
Secondly, i was thinking of using a pendrive with my current version of max then i realized that the version they sent me was actually dumbed down for features, had no KB/Mouse icons, no jump drive icons, and bearly connects to get anything for updates without freezing. so im thinking i got the shaft.
Do i really have a core version of AR with nothing but basic functionality. before you ask the version is 3.2 on the inside of the disk. Can anyone tell me the most current version of this software.
