Hey I was just thinking about getting and installing a Flip Top Cover on my v12 slim PSTwo and was just wondering what your guy's experiences are with this combo. I just wanna play backups and imports. I'd just like to know the reliability of this.

dont the slim pstwos have a flip top cover :s :s
think u may need to sort out returning it ......

I think you're very tired. I'm talking about the Flip Top Cover mod.
I use one and it works fine... just make sure the lid closes properly when loading up the SM boot disc...
There are no games that work on my modded V9 Ps2 that and don't work on my slim line ps2.. One of the good things you can do with SM v3.6 is load usb advance straight off ur usb hd... its mad...
Anyway I didn't want to go through the hassles of laser issues with the slim line so i just went for sm..
Cheers

Theres a far cheaper way than baying one of those lid switch bypass mods for the Pstwo, just get the swap magic on its own and open your Pstwo and just type the lid switch closed,it takes allmost no effort and saves you some cash.
oh rite i see what ure talking bout nowOriginally Posted by Oktoberfest
I think their pretty much the same as the ps2 ones (from what ive herd)
except u tape down the switches instead of pulling out the tray with a slide card, i think it sounds like a better idea then the slide card method, as you dont forcably pull out the tray

Actually the V12 is alot simpler than that ,it doesnt use a tray system but rather a built in flip top(like the old psones) the fliptop has a little switch that senses if the top is open or closed, just taping the switch closed will make the Pstwo think that the lid is allways closed allowing you to swap DVDs simply by pressing the open button and changeing the disc, its a easy way to do it and it does actually work, while swap discs on the other hand doesnt allways.Originally Posted by yahooadam
by pretty much the same i ment the same concept, you put in a disc, then swap it for your copy to circumvent the protectionOriginally Posted by fasman
But i was saying it sounds better beacause you only open the cover, infact u do it the way that its supposed to be done, except you tape down the micro switches
Not a good idea if u dont use the swap disc though![]()

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm using the Swap Magic 3.6 w/ my PSTWO slimline, and I shelled out the extra $6 for the plastic tabs that trick the sensors, and I couldn't be happier. Throw in the fact that I have extended warrenty through the retailer, so by NOT voiding my warrenty, if the laser burns out I just return it and recieve a brand new one![]()
