What is the keylauncher Rom0: trick?
What is the keylauncher Rom0: trick? –
I've got a non-modded PS2 w/250GB harddrive using the MC exploit and ps2menu-k 48bit as my boot.elf.
A forum search turns up only a few posts, but they say that Rom0: is the BIOS filesystem and only keylauncher can mount it like this. Then they imply that this can be used to call OSDSYS to launch PS1 backups. I just want to be able to play Doom again. It's my exploit launch CD, and the only PS1 game I still have. I'd like to play it from HDD. I know the other alternative would be to just remove the exploit MC and let the game boot, but I don't want to ever have to remove/insert anything in it again. Call me lazy. Is it as simple as putting keylauncher (which version?) on my harddrive with the other ELFs and loading it? Does it have to be BOOT.ELF? And does it automatically mount Rom0:? And finally, do I just add the Doom.ISO to the HDD in CD mode?
I'm not too clear on what you're asking, but if you are saying you want to play your PSX game that you use for your Xploit, just pull the Memcard out until it boots and then just put it back in. If you asking if you can play a PSX game from the HDD, it's not going to happen.
The X=rom0:OSDSYS;psone backups (v9 only) is in a special version KL4 PSone Dat file.
