my GS is broken so is it possible for me to boot back-ups with any MC exploit and is it possible to transfer the exploit to a ps1 MC then use the ps2 to transfer the exploit to my ps2 MC, i have a homemade pc to ps1MC transfer cable but no one for ps2MC

if you can boot to PS2menu, then yes you can. YOu will however have to find a way to get cogswap onto your PS2. Make a compilation in CDGENPS2 with cogswap and burn it. Then, boot your PS2 to PS2menu. take out the PS1 cd (assuming your using the exploit) and insert a CD-based PS2 game. once its registered, swap it out for the disc you just made and switch over to the cd drive. then copy cogswap.elf to your memcard. then just run cogswap with PS2menu and you should be good to go.
IF you dont know how to use cogswap then here is how:
1.) once its loaded up, insert a game in to the drive with a bigger TOC than the backup/import you want to play
2.) once its registered on screen, press X.
3.) Now the disc picture on screen should be purple and say "use cogswap"
4.) swap out the PS2 game and put in the backup, then press X again.
5.) whala, booting backups using PS2Menu+cogswap.

By higher TOC, I mean a game that is larger in size than the backup you wish to play. eg, I use vice City (4.3gb) in cogswap to play my silent Hill 4 backup (3.66gb).

Do you need a modchip to use the cogswap?

thw whole point of cogswap is that the methods used to swap the game remove the need for a mod (seeing as you are manually doing the mods job)

for cogswap to work you have to take out your original with the high TOC, and put inthe backup without the ps2 knowing you did so. This requires either a fliptop, no solder modchip, swipecard, or knife trick.

i have cdloader running from ps2menu perfectly, and im sure i can get dvdloader on it too, all you have to do is burn it to a cd (thro in a dummy), in ps2menu, press r1, and copy it from the cd0

Which version of cdloader do you use to run from the mc? Is it an elf file?
After that if I have no chip , how will I load the backups (cd and vd) ?
Is there stil swapping? How does it work?
I got a chip myself , this is for a friend and Id like to customize his mc with exploit + PS2menu + cdloader so he can boot backups...
Thanks
