I believe, the new BIOS itself wouldnīt interfere with ESR in any way.

Iīm not dlanor, but I donīt think a direct boot is possible in any way.
dang, i wish someone would donate or loan a slim with the 230 bios to ffgriever and to jimmy kalel-kalel & neme for them to hack.
so what do you think dlanor, is it possible?
AFAIK, the new PS2s (with BIOS 2.30) do no access the MC on boot-up in any way.
Atleast, it doesnīt search for the OSDSYS-/DVD-Player-Updates.
But Iīm sure, FMCB itself (loader with all features, also OSD-Hack and stuff...) and ESR can be used on those models without any issues also.
ESR can be started through the RUNME.ELFs of old FMCBs, if I remember correctly (even if FMCB is not installed).
Another thing to test:
Did someone with a 90k have a Swap-Set, or something to start ELFs?
Did someone with a 230-BIOS started FMCB with its installer, after it was installed?
Anyway,... It should be possible.
Just a direct mc-booting without modding the console, or using discs is out of sight (yet).
