Ok, here is a few thing to look on when networking/FTP (I havnt tried this with a ps2/execftp tho):
How do u connect to your ps2 to your pc?
If u hook em up directly u need a crossover-cable (ususally blue).
If u hook em up using a network/router u need networkcables (ususally white/gray).
This is usually very importent if u normally use your pc/netcard to hook up to a network/router(networkcable) .... and then try to hook up using crossovercable .... then u might need to change netcard settings manually.
In Win XP: Enter control Panel/Network connections/Rightclick connection/properties/configure/advanced/ and change the "value" if u need to. A "auto"-value is a good choice if possible. So if your netcard is set to "100MBs base Full duplex"-networkcable and u are using a "10MBs base half duplex"-crossovercable change the setting
U might have a IP mixup. If u are hookin' up using crossover/direct u should only need Pc IP, subnet mask and Default gateway (ip's)
If u use network/router u need Pc IP, subnet mask and Default gateway AND 2x DNS.
Get your setting by:
start/run
type "cmd" and press enter
type "ipconfig /all" and press enter
It will then display your network settings (Write em all down)
Make sure u DONT have PC and Ps2 IP BOTH set to 192.168.1.1 because that the router.
So on your PC could be like (network):
IP address : 192.168.1.2
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 10.10.10.10
DNS: 20.20.20.20
And your ps2:
IP address : 192.168.1.3
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 10.10.10.10
DNS: 20.20.20.20
In FlashFXP:
Choose site manager, "new site", choose a name, IP is 192.168.1.3 and port is 21 (and choose a username/password if u set one up on your ps2). Then press connect
Slightly off topic: http://portforward.com/ will tell u all u ever need about how to set up your router/p2p
