Tried to load ELF loaded disc by using ghetto swap on pstwo

i download a zip file with abunch of ELF files on it and the intruction said that just burn it on to a disc and load. i burn it on to a disc using Roxie Easy CD Creator(since Alcohol 120% only copy discs) and load it with ghetto swap method on my slim pstwo (put in a original ps1 disc in browse screen, swap the disc while spinning and press load disc in browser), but all i got is a playstation logo screen... the ghetto swap loads ps1 backup and i dont see why it doesnt load ELF files. any idea why and how do i fix it??

1. You must burn the disc a certain way... Alcohol WILL do this... just select PS2 in the menu.

2. The image must have a system.cnf must be in that image in order for anything to boot.

1. i just found out that Alcohol 120% does not support burning files(none CD image) directly off the harddrive.
2. it does include a system.cnf which point at boot.elf which i think is the launchelf.
3. do y'all kno any other nice burning programs that could allow me to burn disc like these?

U cant run single files straight off cd. U must compile a ps2-disc-image (iso or cue/bin) first using cdgensps2 or similar tool. Then u burn the image to cd-r.

Take a look at cd-loader (www.swapmagicfix.com) so u get a feel on how a ps2 cd is working. U can replace the cd-loader-elfs with your own and rebuild.

Yeah, I thought it was already an image... I guess ur stuck with Nero.

Go to www.exploitstation.com where you will find cdgenps2, nero, and anything else PS2 related you could possibly want... oh and you gotta set the system.cnf to a specific LBA... 12231 it is... right click on system.cnf (in cdgen) > edit >fixed LBA > enter 12231... you must add the files in this order: system.cnf > boot.elf and then the other shit...

argh, it still failed. i first created a .bin file using cdgenps2--with system.cnf set with 12231 LBA and drag boot.elf then the rest of the files into cdgenps2. next i burn it the image with alcohol 120% in ps2 disc mode. i think the reasons may be that i had some folders in the disc as well and their LBA were like 23,24,25(but the files inside were all higher than 12232) or mabey that i used a ps1 disc to swap on a V12 pstwo... maybe i should try Nero or something...

If you built the disc correctly then it should work... unless it's your boot method... I don't have much experience in this...

tried with Nero no lucky i got a feeling that $ony disable the pstwo from loading elf's in ps1 mode to stop ppl from using the ms exploit... damn, so do i need a swap magic or something? i dont thing its worth it since dont have a DVD burner and i only wanna load homebrew programs.

I never got a PS2 disc to run with PS1 swap because by the time you swap its already running in "PS1 Emulation Mode". I have an action replay evo I ordered from amazon and didn't get until after my ps2 broke (search for the "PSTwo + water" thread). So if anyone wants the action replay to play around (minus the usb key because I'm using that for other stuff) send me $10 via paypal (shipping + gas to post office lol) and Iill send it out. EMAIL ME BEFORE SENDING $ in case someone already got it and I haven't updated the thread in time.
