Is it possible to use a homemade slidecard and swap a regular PS2 game disc with the exploit installer CD while it's booting up? The reason I don't want to buy a SwapMagic disc or MAX Drive is that I want to see if my HDD works with my PS2 before I spend any money on those things, as I pretty much don't have any use for them besides running games from the HDD.

    Thanks in advance.

it's possible.. just a lito bit too OLD lol... so the tutorials aren't up anymore ( i do'nt tihn so)

anyways u should be able to install an expoilt wit a demo disk (from pso or osmething) and swap the disk wit ur homemade slidecard wen u get to a demo game and it'll say like push X to start ect..

after it's done install the exploit (cogswap, cdloader, faplink, launch elf<-boot.elf these programs are good to start off wit) then u can boot dsm hdd tool to format ur hdd and add a new partition , then FAPLINK into that new partition and add all ur exploit files there so u can save space on ur memcard and hdadvance. and that should be it.. lol..

it's alot of work ^_^ heh.. or u can just exploit hdadvance to ur memcard in the begin'n...

Well, 1. You were proven wrong, 2. I did search for it, but nothing came up, and 3. How exactly was I inadequate in my choice of words, or at least less adequate than your choice of words ("for god sake plz at least do search and be a bit smart", I mean, come on)?

Anyway, thanks a lot Allenylc! Really appreciate it.

lol ok i stand corrected although i wonder why you would go through all that instead of just asking someone with a modchip to install the exploit for you or borrowing a gameshark2...
