Swap magic - only DVD-R?

I installed tool A and B of my ghost switch (cuz i dont know how to do C) and i botted up the DVD boot disc and the "load program/video mode" screen came up, i opened the flip top (i have a brand new slim line ps2) and instereted my back up... it spins for a second and the screen flickers ever so slightly, and doesnt boot the game... its burned on a DVD+R, would burning it on a DVD-R fix the problem?

which peace is c on your diagram because you need the one in the top left and the bottom right (bottom being th front)
