I dont know wat quality Swap Magic uses to burn there disc with..As the disc wont even read on my pc dvd burner. i tried to find ot with Imgburn.
Both my Swapmagic 3.6 (CD and DVD versions) discs are unreadable on my PCs's drives. Seems to be because of the "special" kind of discs they actually are (Strange spiral patterns on the shinny side).
Any others who have bought Swap Magic have issues with there DVD disc not working. But there CD disc works fine?
Mine works fine... but it's quite the contary if you want to talk about defects.
My CD version *does* screw up at times (The PS2 sometimes fails to read the "SCE" signature on it and thinks that it's a burned disc, hence a red screen). However, resetting the PS2 (A few times at most) to get the PS2 to re-read the disc usually solves any problems.
My DVD version seemed to be a little thin in the plastic near the center hub... and my slimline's rotor sometimes doesn't get a good grip on the DVD (When it isn't seated properly), and the DVD gets scratched as it gets rotated... (My bad for not ensuring that it was properly seated before starting my PS2!!)
Otherwise, my Swapmagic discs are still working, despite being quite worn out over the past 3 years of usage (And irresponsible handling).
On the 2-3 times that it has got to the Playstation logo its grey and messed up. But the Swap Magic DVD splash never comes up. It just goes black and goes to browser with MC and disc is highlighted and it says"Theres no data on disc" Not sure if those are the exact words..
Sounds like your PS2 is struggling to read the DVD version... try running it with your modchip switched off (If you have one installed)?
If that fails, I can only suspect a faulty disc. What version of Swapmagic did you order?
The region it's meant for must fit your console's region.
With this company it feels like they want to make me prove that theres something wrong with the disc and not take it on a customers word.
Which company did you buy it from? I bought my set from linker4u.com in 2007, and they responded very quickly to my requests.
