Swap Magic. It does nothing! Little help please.

Ok. I was so pumped to finally start dabbling in ps2 modding I got my discs and went to town. First I burned a hdloader I got off of a p2p site. Nothing. It just gave me pink bars on the left,top and right of the screen. So Then I tried the dvd disc. Same. Tried a different brand cd (Jensen) Nothing. Read up and tried Verbatim. Nothing. Tried some old Imations. nothing. So I tried 2 different hdloaders. Same results. Tried 2 different mc exploits, same. Tried version 4 and 7 ps2's same. Tried Nero and Alcohol, same results. What the heck am I doing wrong? Im switching the discs out simply by removing the top of the dvd lid and putting the disc in. (Ghetto flip top I guess) Any advise before I throw these stupid discs through a window?

And on a completely unrelated subject, know any good trustworthy US retailers that sell the infinity? I have a feeling that these discs are just a worthless coaster.

ok you need DVDLoader, Boot SwapMagic DVD-->DVDLoader V7All-->eject tray-->
insert original psx game-->swap psx game with exploit installer cdr via fliptop-->
press X

Well shat! I don't own a dvd burner. Still holding out for dual layer to get bigger. So am I screwed? I tried the cdloader off of a p2p site (seeing as I can't get into ownz because they don't take a netscape email.) And I get the same wonderful 3 bars. Anymore ideas? Does this plague all of the swap magic disc's? If so that's lame that I didn't know about that. I would have easily saved the money and gone for a chip instead.

if you dont even have a dvd burner whats the point of having a chip? just so you can use HDLoader? you should have just bought the orignal disc HDloader..
About $100 to get a chip and have it installed, Good Luck

I've got HD Advance burned onto a CD-R...
My method is use SwapMagic CD Version, swap with CDLoader v7 All (from http://www.swapmagicfix.com/ ) and then swap again with your HD Advance disc...

then install independence exploit...you wont need SM discs ever again

SKS, I really never use a dvd burner. I have no need for it on ps2 cause I don't backup games I just play around with the emu's and all other homebrew's. I also have no need for an installer. I am more than qualified to install it myself (numorus xbox installs including a memory upgrade) that does not scare me at all. The only thing I really would use a burner for is to backup all of my files. (ie complete mame set and numerouse tv shows) However because of the shear size of these I am holding out until dual layer burners are more mainstreamed (the discs are still way too much).

I will attempt the other cdloader. My stack of wasted cd's keeps getting larger and I am starting to get extremely fed up. I should have just done the chip, however my bro inlaw wanted to see if it could work on his ps2 and didn't want to open or spend any money. I thought swap magic would solve all of our problems however as I'm discovering it's becoming more of a headache than it's worth

Also did you ever think you maybe buring the discs wroung? and If you want my help on makeing a working exploit I could help you... I got any prog you need or want... for the ps2

LOL didn't annoy me at all. I really appreciate the help. Anything will do right now. Im just annoyed buy the swap disc. I really didn't know it would give me that much trouble. I would have never gone with it if I did. I just kept hearing good things about it so I decided to give it a try. Maybe it's my disc's. I haven't a clue. I do know one thing though. I can't recomment swap disc's to anyone. It is garbage in my book.
I just wish I knew why it wasn't working. As a tech that is what I do. I find out why. However Im stumped in this one. I just tried that new cdloader and it worked once. I was so excited I didn't know what to do. When I tried it again nothing! I also tried a 3rd ps2 nothing. it was a 5001.oh man
