Swap magic 3.3 newbie help please.

I just got swapmagic 3.3 today, SM seems to load fine. When I get the load program screen I slide out and insert my backup and put the tray back.. load program and I hear the CD spinning, stopping, spinning, stopping, etc for about 20 seconds then get the Not a valid PS2 disc. Tried with a couple and same results.

Does the spinning and stopping mean anything? Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I am using Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media burned at 4X.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting the same problem on an american Xenosaga on my PAL PS2, this is a proper game not a burned one, I don't have a clue what i'm doing wrong.
