It should work for import games and backups cuz it were programmed for this. Did you try any other import or backup with this method ?

"psxlauncher" works with "Memor32", "Swap Magic" and "FMCB". Personally tested with "Memor32" and "Swap Magic" for "FMCB" a friend of mine use/used it with "FMCB".

We both have the same model of the PS2 "PS2 SCPH-70004 V12". Maybe there is a difference in booting PS1 games on your model ( i don't think there is a difference but someone who knows for sure correct me on this if i'm wrong ) but i suggest to try another backup of an import or original import game if it works maybe "FFIX" has only a problem to boot on any other console region than US NTSC PS1/PS2.

I other games run fine then maybe you should try the patch for "FFIX". I know patched version runs fine on PS2.

Nope tried different imports noone works. PS1 pal games obviously play fines by themselves and with psxlauncher I can swap them.... but it's pretty pointless since the console is a PAL one LOL. I've just tried to see if the program works.
Maybe the new PS2 has some other "check" on the region....

Other question : How did you mod your PS2 for the swapping ? "Magic Keys" ? "Straw mod" ?

"Modding" the new 90000 PS2 for swap is like on a Psx/PSone.... just use a small piece of paper to block the small "switch" that activetes when you close the console cover.
There is also a disc "stopping thing", probably to stop the disc from spinning when you open the cover that you can keep up with another piece of paper or with your finger when you are swapping, otherwise the disc cannot spin at the right speed.
    That's all.

There two switches which have to be blocked + the disc brake ("stopping thing").

First switch is on the upper left side when you open the tray (this one can't been seen without opening the cover of the PS2 cuz it's inside the cover and is hard to reach from the ouside but there are video tutorials which are showing the "Straw Mod") and the second one is on the lower right side above the power switch (this one is easy to block with glue tape or a piece of rubber).

The disc brake is on the upper right side and need to be blocked when you attempt to hot swap.

This info is not only for you Ichisuke but for all who are reading this. But i suggest that you check all switches on your console and try again.

    Best regards

mmmmm that switch seems difficult to keep pressed but.....
Why can I play import/backup ps2 disc without locking that switch???
I swap using FMCB(setting up to load the browser so the original game doesn't load) then I enter ulaunchelf and I insert another ps2disc and I launch the executable of the ps2 game...
I still don't understand what that switch do....
So I can play correctly ps2 games of different region/backups but no PS1 import..... is that because of that switch??

EDIT: found out that on latest 90000 is not necessary to press that switch... or better that switch shouldn't exists anymore, otherwise I wouldn't understand while I can get the disc to spin simply by pressing the cover switch near the power button. Of course I have to block the "disc break" thing to make the disc spinning correctly.
