Something to Replace the Sharkport cable..

I'm curious if anyone has used something else besides the official Sharkport cable to put the Independence hack on your carD????

What type of USB cables do I need for it? I'm pretty sure you can use a usb to usb male connectors...or do you need the bridge cables?

Could someone help me because I've only the Gameshark to use for the exploit. =[

With minimal searching you could have found the thread below that tells you what cable to use as well as what chip is in the cable.

Isn't it just a PL2301/2302?

essentially the usb version of a crossover cable?

Couldn't it be done that your computer acts as a hub?

Or if need be, can anyone here tell me if this will work to convert it in such way?

I have both types of cables and at the end both ends of the whole thing are Type A male.

Pls, on a quick notice, I don't want to spend too much $$ on all this stuff if it's simply not going to work.

No it will not work!
The correct cable has a chip inside, usually accompanied by a large lump in the middle or one end. That chip is required for the software to work correctly.
Simply adapting the end of a regular USB cable is not a solution.
