Ok, I posted this over at the memcard forum, but I want to post it here too, to see if I can finally get help.. Sorry if this is a "my bad" type thing, but can I claim it under the newbie rule?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok. That feels a lil better...

now on to my small problem. Basically, all I want to do is transfer a game save for Fire Pro Wrestling Returns to my memory card. I've got a cd program to copy it to my memory card, but heres the deal..

I've only got a original ps2, swap magic dvd version, & psuedo fliptop (don't ask.. another type thing..)

Is there any option for me to burn something to dvdr to boot with smdvd?

I've tried the countless ways there are to convert a cd image to a dvd image, but no luck, wasting cdrs and dvdrs on heaps of stuff.. I've even tried dvd loader from www.swapmagicfix.com, which I thought was cd loader just burnt to a dvd disk, but it won't recognise any cdr programs I burn to different cdrs (one of the damn ones have to be compatible..) DVD loader even has a hard time booting my fire pro disk.. I got it to load a demo disk which normally won't load on my ps2, but its a dvd disk..

What can I do? Any help?

By the way, I've also got a swandisk 256 mb usb drive, so if I can incorporate that somehow, that would be freaking awesome..

    Mucho thanks in advance,

    Bobbeth

    To boot a CD game/app etc.. using DVDLoader;

    1. Load DVDLoader in whatever way you usually use to boot DVD Games etc..
    2. Once DVDLoader has loaded, press EJECT on the console (or Triangle on your pad) & replace the DVDLoader disc with a retail PS2 CD based (blue surface disc) game or Swap Magic CD
    3. Wait until the disc loads its initial TOC. Depending on what version of DVDLoader you have, there will be a media type message in the bottom left corner of your screen, which should now say PS2CD. Press X.
On the next (EA Method) screen, swap out the CD game with your backup game/app using your flip-top/slide card method, then press X

    Your game/app will now load.

Your only real other option is to put the CD based app you have onto DVD, which'll take about 5 or 10 minutes.

    You'll need IsoBuster, DVDScan v3.7, Sony CDVDGenerator 2.0 & Iml2Iso Enhanced v4 (or Apache2, which isn't as good)

You'll find a guide on rebuilding here..

    http://www.backupscene.com/viewtopic.php?t=856.

The only main differences are, that you will need to extract the files to your HD, so you can scan them with DVDScan 3.7 to change any media checks from CD to DVD. But the rest is pretty much the same, although you will need to manually change the starting position of the 1st file to a much higher value so the image is big enough to be a DVD.

If after reading my guide at backupscene you require further help, then I'll help you there. Just make a topic about it.
