sharkport vs. memor32 memory card vs vast memory card
My brother and I have been video gaming since before the Atari 5200 and we both have the old fat PS2's and we are tired off having to play off the disks. Niether of our PS2's came with hard drives installed, but I have an 80 gig HDD hooked up to mine(not using it yet) and my brother has a USB hard drive with all his PS2 games installed on it all ready, and we are trying to find the CHEAPEST, easiest and most reliable way to play off the hard drives. We understand that we need Free McBoot on our memory cards to read the hard drives and thats the problem, you need a modded PS2 to put Free McBoot on the memory cards. We also have just found that there are people that will install Free McBoot on your memory cards for free thru here which is GREAT and all but we want to be able to do this ourselves. We have found 2 things of great interest to us in the SharkPort and the Memor32 memory card, both have the ability to be hooked up to the pc to install programs via the USB ports. They should allow us to install Free McBoot onto our existing 8Mb memory cards so we can boot off the HDD's. We have also found something called Vast memory card but we can't find anything more out about it. After all the searching that we have done on this subject, we have found that this community is the most knowledgeable in these aspects and we would like your opinion of the way we are thinking of going and which one to purchase and use. Thanks for your replys.
