  1. #1 Running Backups SoftMod
    GodOfTheNoose Guest
I have had my ps2 soft modded for awhile with the MC Exploit. So yestarday I thought I wonderd if you could run back ups with this. So i copied one of my games and tried it. I use UElfLauncher currently then stuck the copy in and expecetd it to be able to run it and it didn't. I really don't want to be harsh but is soft modding a ps2 only to let your run useless homebrew apps and a half assed Media Player. I mean no offense I don't what to say that the people that worked on the Media Player and the McLoader and all those things did a crappy job but compared to the xbox it doesn't really offer much. Yes i do realize that the xbox has more documentation and a SDK and the PS2 Scene has come a long way but really if you aren't going to be able to run backups and are just able to run some peoples homebrew apps its kind of useless to even bother to softmod in the first place. All thewas really unessecary i suppose just wnated to give some food for thought. Anyway I wanted to know can you even run bakcups by just soft modding with the mc exploit or do you have to use some Swap Trick and stick a knife into your tray and pry it open. Sorry if I have been a little harsh.

You can use ulaunchelf to run the swapmagic, cdloader or cogswaploader ELFs,
so yes you can play backups suing a softmod!

So really all you need to make the backups run are to get the right elf's and stick them on your hdd or mc and run it just like the retail swap magic cd would do and play the backup ?

For your V9 station,..simply boot launchelf...insert a RETAIL/Original ps2 for the backup-media you want to play eg; for a DVD backup on the launchelf menu insert an original DVD game after it reads it and say "disc stop" or stop disc...do the "card swap" and insert you backup...then select "ps2 disc" from your launchelf selection...DVD original=DVD backup; CD original=CD backups...hope i helped ya...
