No that's impossible. The whole point of swap magic is to get past the PS2 media check. If it find anything other then a valid original PS2/PS1 game/Movie, then it will give you the red screen and say it's not a valid PS2 disc. The reason why swap magic works is because it's a factory pressed disc made to act like an original PS2 disc, so once you pass this media check (with a valid disc), then backups are possible. As far as I know, this is how it is. Of course you can also use a PS1 disc as your boot disc to play backups, why not just use that? Sounds like your not familiar with the PS1 exploit trick.
