Is it possible to do a PS2 softmod without the use of the CD/DVD drive?
There are apps out there that make it possible with the XBOX where in all you have to do is take the HD, hook it up to a PC, configure how you want the drive to be set up, then run this little linux disc with your configured drive and it formats it and your good to go.
if you have the harddrive and a network cable can use ftp client to run some exploits....
sure, just copy the files to your memorycard with a friends PS2.

I've come across a few posts about a program that formats the HD for your PS2. Is it possible to get that program to set the hard drive up in a way that when you power the PS2 on your good to go?
Sorry for all of the questions it's just that with the 93 different tutorials I've been looking at it seems as though there are some "tricks" that if put together could make this whole exploit process much less painful.
WinHIIP is the program I was referring to. It seems to me that since this app is able to format the drive for use on the PS2 then why can't you make it dump the exploits onto the HD?
Which brings me to another question... can the exploits be run from the HD or do they have to be on MC?
The exploit run from the memory card, the only way of running elf without the cd/dvd drive is to have a modchip with dev.2 mode, that can run an elf from the hdd...
U are ALWAYS required to use a PS1 disc with the exploit.Quote:
