PSXLauncher Question
I figured out that I have a V9 Playstation 2. I'm getting conflicting reports about whether or not I need a swap tool to use it. Does anyone know if I need that or if I can use the eject button when it asks me? I tried once and got a "not a psx disk" error, though I may not have put it on cd-r correctly.

Have you chipped your PS2, i will need details in order to help you out.
-
No, it is only softmodded.

Can you elaborate on a softmod please, i could help you out from there, when i exactly know your problem. Do you mean to say that you are using swapmagic to play your games or are you booting them from an external HDD ?

I do not have swap magic. I have a freemcboot exploit from a codebreaker disc, and I have an internal hard drive for ps2 titles.

To play your PS1 backup discs with PSXLauncher, load the PSXLauncher ELF file and get to the black screen with the instructions, eject the tray and insert an original PS1 disc then close the tray. The disc will spin up and then stop. Once the disc stops, you have to use a swap tool if you don't have a flip top lid to remove the original disc and replace it with the back up. After you reinsert the tray a lock it back with the swap tool, you can then press "X" and enjoy your back up.
