Hi i am following this tutorial (using the bit at the botom about using the pen drive and swap magic on a slimline)here (here for english like me) and when i get to the browser the psx origonal spins/clicks then goes to red ps2 format disk screen. i am gessing this is because i dont refresh the toc at the swap magic screen like i should because i cant without removing one of the slim tools which i dont want to do. am i right ant is there a way around

Sounds familiar, i guess it's like the PSX boot method using KL discussed here. And that's why it's only compatible with PS2 v9, but i would be happy if it works on other versions too. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
//Edit: Allready tested it on a V5 & V7 using KeyLauncher 0.4 and uLaunchELF 4.7 with pressed and burned backup media. Tested Games are: - Metal Gear Solid (pressed)
- Parasite Eve (pressed)
- Star Ocean CD1 (CD-R)
- Treasures of the Deep (CD-R)
When booting Star Ocean the PS1 tiltle screen appeared before freezing, all others only showed black screen. Don't know what's different in the BIOS of PSTwo but your chances to get it work that way are quite low.

You can play psx backup´z in V9,10,12,13 and 14...for playing psx backup´z on slimline you´ll need SwapMagic or (I guess...)any other way to boot ELF´s on it...it´s all explained in the link you gave before...
i cant without removing one of the slim tools which i dont want to do
You´ll need it...at the moment
Hope u all Enjoy...
Un Saludo...
