PSX backups on PS2 v.4
I've got a PS2 fat v.4. I've installed free MC boot and tons of apps, everything works great as far as playing ps2 backups and hd loader doing its job but how the hell do i play psx backups on it??? ive tried cogswap and using the ps2browser to load a real psx game and then swap. i have no problem getting them to work on my slim but i gave that to my brother. any elfs out there that will do the job?? thanks!
bad laser or bad rip.

I may cry a bit when the PS2PSXe is released. All the months and years of hoping and waiting will finally be justified.
there is no way the laser is bad as i just replaced the laser and it works great with ps2 cds and dvds. as for the rips, those are good too because they work on the slim. =\
The only way you can run psx backups on your V4, is to either install a modchip or use a psx cheat disc. (ex. gameshark, ar, breaker pro).
PS2s starting from v9 and on can boot psx backups via softmod (fmcb>uLE>psxLauncher or just by configuring the disc control in uLE and swapping) . a v4 would need a chip or breaker-pro to boot a psx back up.
plus you would to use a sliding tool or flip-top lid.
yeah i figured as much now, i can't find a gameshark for a good price(runs about the same as a mod chip). i already made a custom flip lid but it looks like for hassle free playing i'll just have to install a mod-chip. i did however get a couple of psx back ups to run on this v4 ps2 if anyone is interested but you'll have to practice your old school double swapping! thanks for the help everyone.
oh oh, be careful! :chinscrat
