PStwo Softmod Help?

I have:

A PS2 Slim (SCPH-70012, PSdriver 1.1.1) sensors blocked
Action Replay Max Evo 3.36
Metal Gear Solid 3: SE
No friends with a modded PS2

I have tried:

Free MCBoot with ARMax Evo(used about 4 USB drives)
Hot-swapping my MGS3 with a uL modded version
Burning a CD-RW(don't have any -R) with uLaunch

With Free MCBoot, I tried using multiple usb drives, but none of them appeared in ARMax's media player, except for my PSP. Upon launching Free MCBoot through my PSP, my PS2 black screened, and I had to reset the console. Also uLaunch and FCEUltra would not appear when using any of the USB.

When I hot-swap MGS3 after I press start, when I go to Special it goes to the not a disc screen.

When I burn uLaunch to a CD-RW and start the media player in ARMax, it doesn't recognize the CD.

So please could someone help me? Am I doing something wrong, has anyone else tried using MGS3 on a slim, what brand of USB should I use?
If I have to buy something other than a USB, I'll just get 007 Agent Under Fire.

Edit: I just ended up getting 007: AUD. This topic is now pointless... also MGS3: SE does NOT work.

I would recommend just buying a few normal CD-Rs for £1 (if your in the UK) and try the uLe disc again as RWs are really bad for your PS2/two and don't tend to work 99% of the time, I used a cheapo 128mb integral flash drive (pictured below) to do mine, but I modded my PS2 way back in the ol' Independednce Exploit days.

Maybe dlanor or TnA could give you a more clear and precise answer than my vagueness

Thanks for the reply, but it's alright now, I ended up buying 007: AGU like 90% of the other people, and it worked perfectly:).
