I've just received a Swap Magic 3.3 set with the slim tool for PStwo from www.techwizad.com. It arrived yesterday and after I finally managed to get the three parts of the slim tool in place it worked perfectly and has booted every game I have tried on it. When I was playing WWE Smackdown vs Raw it started making loud clicking noises when the wrestlers were walking to the ring and again when I was playing the actual game. It's a 1:1 backup of the original PAL version using DVD Decrypter to decrypt then Nero (latest version) to burn. I used a Ridisc (8x) white printable DVD-R (Dye: TTG02 / MCC) recorded at 2x (the slowest my NEC ND-2500a will allow). Have you any idea why this is happening? Could it damage by PS2? All the other games I tried seemed to work fine with very little noise (like the originals).
By the way a little tip (most people in the know probably know already) for anyone who has a Neo 2.2 chip installed on the old version PS2s. If you buy the Swap Magic 3.3 Discs they can be used without the slide card. You need to put the swap magic disc in & turn the PS2 off. Next press and hold the Reset button, this will turn the PS2 on and load the Swap Magic disc. When it has loaded let go of the Reset button and after a few seconds the disc tray will open without the PS2 knowing. You can then swap the Swap Magic disc for your backup and after 5 seconds the tray will close automatically. DON'T press the tray close button as the PS2 will detect this. You only have 5 seconds to do the swap so have your backup to hand. When the tray is back in wait a couple of seconds and press X. Your backup will now boot. J I've tested this on my Version 4 PAL PS2 and it worked perfectly each time.
