Im happily running CFM on my PS3 with multiman no probs after using my HTC G1 to play backups, ive inherited a fat PS2 off a neighbour and would like to play from HD and use homebrew but not sure on how to do this with ease, ive no friends with a hacked PS2 - what are my options / easiest route to this.

have read the threads a few times but im having a blonde day and not sure what are the easiest options for me.

thanks for any help or pointers

Okay, I'm no expert, but I can at least point you in the right direction.
If you have a harddrive in your fat look in the harddrive forum here(click on link):
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/ps2-hdd-discussion/

There is info on the harddrives, programs you need, compatability issues....
    Or else:
You will need some homebrew to do this. The most popular thing to run games off hd seems to be OPL (Open Ps2 Loader). You can use an usb harddrive or over a network to a harddrive.
The OPL subforum is here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/official...-loader-forum/

You will see a topic for the opl itself that explains everthing:
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/f150/ope...-v0-8-a-62141/

A topic for games that are compatible:
http://psx-scene.com/forums/f150/ope...ibility-62463/ (Open PS2 Loader Game compatibility)

    and so on.

You will need to use something to install it:
Free Mcboot or Ulaunch elf or swap magic or a few other options:

    http://psx-scene.com/forums/official...c-boot-forums/
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/official-ulaunchelf-forums/
For help with any of those you can ask there.

And finally, with the fat there was an older exploit to run homebrew that used certain ps1 games. You'll have to search I don't remember off hand where that is and I never used it. Good luck.
