Hi, I was wondering if the files had to be put in a certain order for us no-modders and if anyone with an NTSC ps2 has been able to boot it using the knife/cog swap.

The reason I ask this is that the system.cnf has VMODE = PAL and that my initial attempts have been a no-go, heh. Snes-station's guide says to put it's files in a strict order with the system.cnf file first and I was just wondering if doing that would fix my problem, I only have 8 cdr's left, heh.

Hrmm, ok, I did set the system.cnf's lba to 12231 on my first try, with only the ps2 media player, and it froze on the gameshark screen, wouldn't boot. Burned via Nero.

The one I just tried now had 601 mb's of movie files on it and I put the system.cnf first, mplayer.elf second, and the cdvd.irx third. After the bin/cue was made, the .bin file was 720 mb's.
It'd read the disk after I swapped but then take me directly to the rsod (red screen of denial). Burned via Fireburner.

I was able to boot snes-station fine on my first try and subsequent tries but this program is 0wning me, heh.

That was probably it, then. I was trying to use up as much space without going over the toc limit of my gameshark2 v2.0. After it was all burned and everything, more space was probably used than I thougt.

I'm gonna burn one by itself again using FireBurner, since that seems to have worked on my last try. I'll post my results.

Hrmm, I just burned my third disk and it didn't work. Only the mediaplayer files and used fireburner, write cd and close session checked only with track at once.

    Edit:
I just burned my fourth disk with nero, with the order in system.cnf (lba at 12231), mplayer.elf, and cdvd.irx. The ps2 reads it for like a second goes to a black screen then immediately goes to the red screen of denial.

I think I've found my problem, I think I'm burning it too fast on my ol' cd-rw.

Sounds like you are doing everything right mate, Try this

When you use CDgenPS2 to makup your disk do the LBA fix and at the bottom of CDGenPS2 screen you will see total time you MUST keep this UNDER 72 mins including everything(the three files and the AVI)

Then make the Image, do it as Bin+cue files NOT ISO
Then burn with CDRwin, But fireburner should work fine if you havn't got CDRwin, Its just that i use CDRwin, with no probs at all.

Also If you are using CDRW disks then that could be a problem, use 80 minuite CDR's

Hope that helps and Please let us know how you get on M8 !!!
