PS2Menu-K UMCDR cd help
PS2Menu-K UMCDR cd help –
02-20-2005,07:45 PM
How do I make one of this cd mention in this following info.
---- Using PS2Menu-k ----
PS2Menu-k is a limited and slightly awkward program if you don't know the
buttons and what it can do. PS2Menu-k will Browse files, Copy files, Delete
files, unpack NPO save formats, and this version will read an UMCDR CD without
the need to swap thanx to UMCDR's format that looks like an audio disk in a PC.
Use CdGenps2 v3.0 to make an UMCDR or use Max Media Creator to make one and get
that from here @ http://uk.codejunkies.com/downloads/MMC_Setup_1_23.zip .
Here are the controls for PS2Menu-k (Just focus on browsing and executing a
file for now)
Left and Right : Navigate up or down by ten in the list of files/folders
Up and Down : Navigate up or down in the list of files/folders
Cross : Attempt to execute a file, or change current folder
Circle : Delete file or empty folder - prompts for confirmation
Square : Create folder - prompts for name
Tiangle : Select copy destination folder or copy highlighted file to destination
L1 : Switch active partition on HDD
R1 : Switch active device, HDD, host
via ps2link), memory card and CD
L2 : Access configuration screen, for display options.
R2 : Informs if highlighted file is a valid PS2 executable (ELF), filesize.
START : Advanced functions, currently Rename and Advanced (recursive) copy.
SELECT : Display help
The trickiest thing about these controls is that selecting the destination
directory and copying the file to the destination directory is the same button
so remember that if you select a directory and press TRIANGLE it will set it as
the destination and if it is selecting a file it will copy it.....TRIANGLE will
never copy a directory and you must use the advanced functions with START to do
that but mind you it is still buggy and funky. The readme for PS2Menu-k is
included but I don't know if it up to date with the version I included.
To browse the MC, HD or CD press R1 and select mc0:, pfs0:, or cdfs: . You
cannot browse hdloader partitions and the only partitions that are viewable
are partitions created by PS2Menu-k or PS2OS or a partition created by the DMS
HDD Format tool. This tool will not be explained.
This version of PS2Menu-k will allow you to read an UMCDR cd when you browse
cdfs: . Create one easily with all of the PS2 apps you wish to try out and use.
An UMCDR cd is a specially formatted cd that reads like an audio disk in your
PC but PS2Menu-k can read the data from it. The problem with reading cds in a
PS2 is because the data will not refresh but formatted like an audio disk
allows the ps2 to refresh because of its ability to always play a burned audio
disk. It tricks it. UMCDR cd's only work with apps that support UMCDR which
are very few. Sorry Drakonite...but this version of this file was obtained
from ps2dev.org, prop to you on UMCDR though....I know it is YOURS and not
anyone else's development.
