PS2 wont load games

I have a ps2 Phat with free mcboot loaded on my MC, and it works fine. I have a friend with a slim PS2 (SCPH-70012)(V13) and as far I understand it should work. The free McBoot loads fine on the slim, but when I go to load a game the ESR Beta R9 screen loads up then nothing, even after a few minutes.

Its got free mcboot version 1.8b.

If anyone has any ideas the would be sweet.

How do you try to start ESR?
Directly through the OSD, or through the "Launch disc"-function, or let it automatically load?

I have tried all of those, and more. I tried a non patched DVD with cogswap and still didnt work.

Please try "ESR-GUI Test 2" on your PS2 and tell us, what the "disc-type-bar" says.

It probably the disc media is compatible with your fat ps2, but not with your friends slim ps2. Try a different brand DVD and see if it works better, use a higher quality brand than what your console accepts.

It says "DVD Video"

Thats an idea, but it might be a few days before I can afford more. Ill try sony brand next time.

It also could be the ESR-Patcher you´re using.
It seems it can´t read the +NSR-Sector, but only the patched UDF-filesystem.

Not true, but it should work well so maybe it can´t find the +NSR-Sector simply, or the Image is in "bad condition".
