PS2 Version1 Flip Top

I have a version 1 ps2, I bought it the day it came out. I want to get a fliptop and some bootdisks for it, but whereever I look all the fliptops are listed as V4-up. Are there no fliptops for pre version 4 ps2s? If not, what are my options, as far as playing backups and japanese backups?

Cool thanks. I also found one with a 10 screw case w/Swap Magic 3.6 for 35 bux. Is this a good deal?

If it's 10 screw then yeah... it should... do you really have a working v1 console?.... lol

LOL yeah i know its amazing right? I used to work for Software Etc through college and I saw about 1 million V1s come through broken from people trying to trade them in

Ok i was just reading the other forums. Am I going to have problems playing DVD+R or DVD-R because I have a version 1 PS2?

Yeah... I would think so... that was an 'improvment' in the 9-12 consoles... I could be wrong.
