ps2 swapping help

my friend told me to do this so i got james bond 007 agent under fire and i made the edited to i used memorex 8.5 GB disc for the edded version i have a silver slim SCPH 79001 ps2 i go onto james bond 007 and i start it up i load up my file and then i do the swap on the main menu the games music stops and the game doesnt spin like normal so i go to the second mission and start it up then the screen goes black and the game stops spinning completely after a few seconds how do i fix this? (my friend hasnt been online to help me out)
