Im totally a n00b as far as ps2 modding is concerned. I was wondering what would be the cheapest, but most feature rich mod i could use? Basically all i wanna do is play backups and run stuff like reality media player. Im awful at soldering (screwed two xboxes soldering) so a solder free solution would be great. Also, would i need a network adaptor and hard drive to run applications or can i store them on a memory card? or usb thumb drive?

Just do some reading on the PS2 modchips forum. I would recommend a professional installer if you are not comfortable soldering yourself. You can find the professonal installers on the BST Vendor forum.

You need a network adaptor if you want to play games online and/or install a HD to install your games onto. You can get your PS2 to run aplications off your MC.
